BJP organized a protest meeting today afternoon just in front of Trimohini Pratap Chandra High School where tension spread on Friday after a lady teacher reportedly scolded a female student of class nine. Soon a group of miscreants entered the staff room and allegedly assaulted the teacher using filthy language at her.In protest the students, locals and former students blocked NH512 next day for hours demanding exemplary punishment of all involved on the assault on the teacher. Police based on FIR lodged by the headmaster arrested four persons last night.
Majumdar criticised the role of police from the meeting.
”Police is active to file suo moto on common people as they have registered names of forty people. But the same police is idle when they arrest only four while around two hundred goons, as I have been reported, were involved in that incident. We demand arrest of all those miscreants. With this demand we organized our protest meeting today to send strong message to the administration to act impartially “.
