Municipality took initiative to clear waterlogging at Dunlopmore

Balurghat, 14 September :Balurghat municipality took initiative to resolve the problem caused by stagnation of water at Dunlopmore area in Balurghat.
Locals said that for a long time, ordinary people and businessmen had been suffering from the problem of water accumulation in the Dunlop Mor area of Balurghat..The ruling party alleged that this problem was caused due to the wrong town planning of the previous Left run Municipality of Balurghat.
This time, the municipality is proactive in solving that problem. An initiative has been taken by the Balurghat Municipality to remove the accumulated water in Dunlop More. Balurghat Municipality Chairman Ashok Mitra, Vice Chairman Pradipta Chakraborty, MCIC Mahesh Parakh, Bipul Kanti Ghosh and other officials reached Dunlop Mor area in the rain to check the progress of the work.
Common people, however, applauded the civic body for the work.
“It is indeed, a much needed initiative taken by the municipality. With moderate rainfall this area gets waterlogged. We are happy to see the civic authority taking positive role in this regard”, said a trader of Dunlopmore.
