Hili, 11 August: The BSF personnel were tied with Rakhi on the occasion of Rakshabandhan at Hili in South Dinajpur.
Rakshabandhan was celebrated amidst pomp and traditional grandeur at the Hili check post area in South Dinajpur on Thursday morning after members of Apanjan Samajsevi Sangathan and Navadigant Samaj Kalyan Samity tied Rakhi on the wrists of BSF personnel of 61 battalion.
Hili,sharing border with Bangladesh is around 25 km from Balurghat . It is one of the main land ports through which India’s international business with Bangladesh runs.
Sucharita Mandal, one of the members of the organization said,” these personnel are fulfilling their vow to protect the common people by leaving their own area and their familie. Today we have tied Rakshi on their wrists and wished best wishes for them as sisters do for their brothers”.Amulyaratan Biswas, a noted philanthropist was also present at the Rakshabandhan event.
