Balurghat,20July :Culture is a way of coping with the world by defining it in detail —with the quote in mind and zeal for doing something otherwise,  the inmates of  a government -run shelter house in Balurghat staged a cultural performance today at the Natyatirtha in Balurghat.
It has been learnt that various trainings on drama, dance and singing were given to the boarders of the Government-run home namely Suvayan in Balurghat of Dakshin Dinajpur by the Shishu Kishore Academy to bring them back to the mainstream of society. The boarders of Shubhayan Home performed a play called “Gandh Bhuter Kissa O Jadur Tuli”. Besides, they also  performed dance in front of the audience. The enthusiasm of the audience was palpable.
Barkat Ali, superintendent of Suvayan home said,”these inmates were provided training by the Sishi Kishore Academy on drama, singing and other cultural activities to promote a healthy cultural atmosphere and mental frame so that they can mix up with the society outside this home and lead a better life. I am very much proud of them. In future more such performance would be staged “.
There are 56 inmates in the home. 27 participate  in today’s performance. Drama-personalities like Amit Saha, Shilpi Karmakar,Prasanta Roy, Suvajit Mandal assisted the home authority in drama training while Saheb Roy trained them for dance on behalf of Sishu Kishore Academy.
