Balurghat,27 Nov : Women wing of Trinamul congress led by Pradipta Chakrabarty held a free health check up camp at a tribal village in Balurghat. Today more than 150 people comprising mostly of women and children thronged the primary school at Kuaran village under Balurghat sub-division where the camp was organized.
Three doctors of the district hospital in Balurghat including a paediatrician attended the camp.
Necessary medicinies were distributed amongst the villagers.
Kuaran is a tribal dominated village located at a distance of 5 km from Balurghat towards Tapan.
Villagers ,however, hailed the Trinamul women cell for organizing such a free camp. Kanika Karmakar a villager who attended the camp said, “ It has been highly beneficial for the local here. We are not so much solvent to attend these doctors at the private chambers or the hospital . Now as they have come here we cannot miss the opportunity”.
Pradipta Chakrabarty, Trinamul’s district women-cell president said, “ the villagers here are poor and cannot afford to go to Balurghat town for medical reasons. Today we have organized this camp with the assistance from the eminent doctors of the district hospital in Balurghat. Such more camps will be organized in future”. Bhakrabarty also holds the portfolio of vice-chairman in the Balurghat municipality.
