Balurghat, 13 September : In numerics the party’s presence in State legislature may be nil, but the party perhaps still enjoys a large supportbase in the state. Today’s rally of CPI(M) may justify this and the leaderhip have got the reason to be happy to see the Adivasi and minority people who were once party’s traditional supporters walking on the rally today in Balurghat.
“They don’t try to find out and arrest the criminals behind murder of students leader Anis Khan. Neither, they can’t find the crores of money hidden in the houses of political leaders and their close ones.They are,even not interested to give justice to the slain police officer Amitava Malik of West Bengal police or kolkata police SI who was murdered at Gardenrich. They are only interested to please the Trinamool leaders“,CPI(M)’s state secretary Md Salim slammed police administration over ‘proactive role’ to counter the opposition party like CPI(M) during a rally in front of the Dakshin Dinajpur District Magistrate’s office at Balurghat.
CPM’s Chor Dhoro Jail Bhoro protest rally was held this afternoon.A large contingent of police has been deployed at the district magistrate’s office, located at a stone throw distance from the meeting place. However, no incident of any untoward incident has been reported so far.
Barricades and water cannons have been kept ready.
CPM politburo member Md Salim was in the first row of the protest march along with district leadership including South Dinajpur District Secretary Narayan Biswas. The supporters of the CPM came to Balurghat town in a huge procession and protested in front of the district magistrate’s office.
“We are not complacent. But we are happy. The minority community and the Adivasi supporters are once again walking with us. This is encouraging for the party “said a CPI(M) district level leader.
