Balurghat,28 July: At a time when state politics is in deep turmoil following huge allegations of corruption in teacher-recruitment procedure in the state, the Ekta Manch of 2014 Primary TET-qualified ,trained but not included candidates initiated a movement on Thursday demanding cancellation of all illegal candidates and fresh appointment of only eligible candidates.
The activists under banner of Ekata Mancha marched to the office of Dakshin Dinajpur District Primary School Council at Tank More area in Balurghat. Armed with empty plates and placards the candidates started raising slogans demanding fresh and impartial recruitment. Raising the issue of alleged recovery of crores of rupees from a Kolkata based model who is supposed to be ‘close’ to a former education minister ,the activists said, “ crores in leader’s house—we don’t have bread in our house”.
“When the eligible TET –qualified candidates are dying of starvation , we see on media that there is huge corruption in the top level of administration .Ministers and their close people are allegedly found involved in corruption. The government has lost their credibility amongst people. It is no longer a pro-people government working at the behest of commoners” alleged an activist.
“ It was announced earlier in November 2020 from the top level of administration that the TET-qualified candidates of 2014 would be given recruitment in primary schools. But the recruitment process is still not initiated .Rather we can see huge corruption in recruitment. we are thoroughly dejected. Nobody is thinking of us” lamented an activist who denied to be named.
