Balurghat, 21July :An educational seminar on ‘History – Heritage and Importance of Museum’ was held at Balurghat High School. The seminar was Initiated by South Dinajpur Heritage Society in collaboration with Balurghat High School.
Students of ninth, tenth and eleventh classes of Balurghat High School were present.
The welcome speech was delivered by
Srijit Saha, Headmaster, Balurghat High School.
Tuhin Shubhra Mondal, President, South Dinajpur Heritage Society introduced the audience regarding need for arranging such a seminar.
Dilip Dattagupta, Archaeologist, Government of West Bengal, Rana Devdas, Assistant Director, Directorate of Museums, Government of West Bengal, Prof. Sukumar Barai, were the speakers in the seminar.
At the end of the discussion, the students of Balurghat High School took an oath to protect the history and heritage of Balurghat and the entire district.
Deepak Mondal, Secretary of South Dinajpur Heritage Society, Treasurer Jhantu Halder were also present.
