Balurghat ,23 July: The shameful incident that happened at Trimohini Pratam Chandra High School has already triggered sharp condemnation in the academic periphery across the district. On Saturday, the teachers of a high school called Nalanda Vidyapeeth in Balurghat held a silent march on the streets of Balurghat tying black clothes, hanging placards on their chests to express their resentment over the incident that shook the academic personalities of the district. The teachers of Nalanda Vidyapeeth appealed to the administration to ensure the safety of the teachers.
“ The incident cannot be termed as trivial. It is pointing out at the dwindling moral values as well as educational system of our state. The civic society must stand united against such heinous deed” said a teacher on condition of anonymity. Saumik Das, headmaster of the school said,” it is a very shocking incident. We are really surprised and shocked. If the situation goes on like this the academic system would collapse in coming days. A teacher is also a guardian of a student. He not only teaches the students but imparts discipline. If we forget that our society would be in deep trouble”.
